I like going to a charter because I get to make new friends at school. This school is my favorite school of all the schools. I will be here through 8th grade.

The charter school is very different from my old school because this school has classes with two grades. One big thing I really like are the enrichments. This school has new learning activities every day. The school I went to was public; they didn’t have as many hands-on things to do as this school.

That is what I like a lot about this school. It is fun and has lots of fun activities.

All of the teachers here are awesome. The ones I had this year, last, and even ones I’ve never had. They all work very hard.

I love the unique learning projects.

I really like this school because it’s small but fun. This school has a great staff and a great dean!! The best art teacher in the world! This school IS the best!

My daughter has been at AALC for 3 years. I have been amazed by the nurturing atmosphere that the staff and students create together. The school provides many opportunities, such as reading buddies and Friday enrichments, for students at all levels to get to know each other. My daughter is absolutely comfortable in all parts of the school. Academically, the project-based learning has been wonderful and has allowed my daughter to explore topics she is interested in while developing her reading and writing.

Our decision, six years ago to send our child to AALC was made largely because of its small, multi-aged classrooms and attention to individual learning styles. We knew both of these would be important for his academic success and his self confidence. We have felt confident throughout the primary and intermediate years not only with our oldest but also with our other two sons. AALC has been a place where our children have been encouraged to discover their interests, strengths and creativity; challenged to build their skills and explore new learning opportunities and cherished for who they are growing to be. We are especially pleased with our Middle School experience this past year. Although we have at times been frustrated, we have found the staff to be responsive and most importantly, we have witnessed tremendous growth in our son academically, socially and personally!

Ann Arbor Learning Community created an atmosphere for great independent learning for our daughter. She learned to work in groups with others, but also learned independent studying. This year she is in 9th grade at a private school in Saline, and is doing well. The AALC offers a great atmosphere for students and has very supportive staff and teachers who are willing to go the extra mile when working with their students. I cannot say enough good things about the positive experience that our daughter had there.
