Ann Arbor Learning Community

Board of Directors

By Michigan State Law, each charter school operates as their own school district. The Ann Arbor Learning Community is run by a Board of Directors. Members of the AALC Board of Directors are appointed by the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents. Interested parties should apply to the Charter Schools Office.

The number of AALC Directors on the Board can range from five to nine members. The Board is primarily responsible for financial oversight, strategy, insuring that all state and federal laws are followed, and supervising the Dean.

The Board meets at least once a month to conduct school business. Board meeting notices are posted in advance of each meeting. All meetings are open to families and to the community.
